Hola, MR users.  After weeks and weeks of hard work (and by that I mean no work and lots of procrastination) the subdomains are going live today.  MegaMusic and MegaMags.  I would’ve named it MegaMetal, but there’s no way I could get that past Spamela.  They can be accessed with the tabs right above the kitties head.

Also, our friend across the pond, Allan Lake over at NoRulesRadio will be hosting a new 2 hour show every day starting Monday and you will be able to tune in here, or over at Ice.  I don’t have the time yet, but when when I do I’ll update the post.

Let’s see, what do we have today.  IceFilms is down at the moment.  More than likely due to their ridiculous amount of traffic, but gremlins are also a possibility.  I’m sure Abemore and Omen are trying to resolve it as we speak, and I’ll hit them up today at some point and try to get some specifics for everyone.

I know everyone is curious as to what happened to our filehost.  (word of advice for future webmasters: avoid file hosting)  The plan as of now is to bring it back as a sort of an MR Direct,  providing very large single link downloads for donators.  Donators being anyone who has ever donated to the site, past present or future.  Look for that soon.

Speaking of donating, we have about 5 days to raise 54 euros for one of our support servers to stay online.  So if you have been considering donating, now would be a good time.  (And thanks to everyone who already has.)

Wow.  I am still speechless at what all we have experienced over the past few days.  Ranging from extreme stupidity all the way to blatant extortion.  Myself and the other admins have been walking the earth like Kane performing Kung Fu to get things back online.  A few customer service reps had to die and some poor girl named Lindsay over at JustHost.com is still crying herself to sleep, but we’re back.  Now I’m sure we have missed a ton of releases since we went down (and we lost a week’s worth of posts) and there’s also no way we’ll have time to catch them all up, but if there’s something you would like that we missed go ahead and email us and we’ll do our best to get it posted.  Also if anyone has had any issues with their MU premium or has donated and not received a reply, email us.  Our webmail has been down since the site went down so anything you’ve sent, we haven’t received.   And for the time being please use megarelease@gmail.com until I have time to setup and test the webmail on this server.  Other than that, let’s get back to business as usual!

According to Niptuck’s Official Episode Guide they are not calling tonight’s episode that aired season 6 or season 7. We initially posted these as season 7 since the release groups named it as such, but some websites are calling it episode 11 of season 6. Therefore I’ve edited our titles to reflect both. My bet is when this comes to DVD it will be called Season 7 but at this point we don’t know. Just wanted to explain this situation for anyone who is confused, so, in closing, 6×11=7×01, enjoy.

Ok MR users, the site is in trouble and needs your help.  I took down all the full page ads per request from all of you.  And by request I mean everyone was sending hatemail and death threats.  But I have to admit I like things a lot better without them.  However, our revenue dropped by about 60% as a result of it.  Our monthly overhead, between our support servers, bandwidth costs, hosting, and premium accounts with UseNet servers, MegaUpload, Big and Free, etc. totals in the neighborhood of 250 dollars a month.  You heard right, EVERY MONTH.  And our ads barely cover a third of that.  And no one ever donates.   So here’s what Im going to do.  From this point forward, anyone who donates will receive free access to MegaUpload premium accounts.  Donate 5 dollars and you will receive a month of premium access.  Donate 10 dollars and you will receive a 3 months of premium access.  Donate 25 dollars for 6 months of access.  And a donation of 40 or more dollars and you will get a year of Mega premium!  Compare that to what Mega charges and you will see the deal.  So cmon guys we need your help.  I’ts either this or we go back to full page ads, and I hate those as much as anyone.  (And even the full page didnt cover everything cost wise)

We love working this site and bringing you guys Mega links of the latest and greatest, but at the rate were going MR is in danger of going offline.  Unless they have wireless access at the homeless shelter and soup kitchens, cuz thats where I’m headed if I keep financing this bad boy out of pocket.

Update: This worked out much better than expected.  The site is in the green and I hope all of you with recently acquired premium access are enjoying yourselves.  Comment back and tell others the difference, good or bad.  We are going to run this for promotion for a while now since it seems to help both you guys and us.  And if we raise enough, we just may be able to afford to get RSS fixed, and maybe, just maybe, buy a search button for the search bar. :p

Concerning user comments.  We love you guys and all the comments you leave, (good or bad) and I apologize if they don’t always display right away.  This is due to a blacklist/spam filter I have installed.  We receive well over 200 spam comments a day about iPhones, Cialis, etc, so the filter is neccessary.  I do scan the spam comments regularly and approve all legit ones that it filtered.  Please don”t be discouraged by this.  It’s on my to-do list to find a plugin for WordPress that will maybe require a captcha or something where i can remove the filter altogether.  But keep em coming, you guys rock!

And on a much more kick-ass note, I have hired team of mercenary programmers to develop a new Ice Quick Stream script that will fix all the bugs in the current one.  The bugs that didn’t use to be there, but are there now cuz apparently Mega has caught on to us and Ice.  We’re still not sure if the new one will be able to bypass the 45 second wait time and download limits (but there’s a 90% chance it will), but we do know one thing for sure.  Brace yourself…..
