Additional Info: Both the descriptions on IMDb for this are terrible, so lets just discuss it. I say it’s an icon of American culture and a classic in the truest sense of the word. For God’s sake it was about fighting MiGs! is anyone here old enough to remember MiGs? They were one of the very few war machines that could stand toe to toe with us during the Cold War. Feared by all. And it was only because of the skills of pilots like Maverick, Goose, and Iceman that we won the Cold War. That, and the whole “tearing down the Berlin Wall” thing. And back before Cruise completely lost his mind, that dude could make one hell of a movie. So on top of MiGs, F-16′s, F-14′s, a young and smoking hot Kelly McGillis, and an all-star cast, it also has “Danger Zone” in the soundtrack, which is an instant win.
